John
Quandt, co-founder
John has
been working in the transportation and mobility industries for
thirty years. He was introduced to the industry by the school
bus business in 1970’s Boston, as Operations Manager for a
company transporting special needs children. John also spent
two years managing the transportation contract for the
desegregation of the Boston Public Schools with the
responsibility for transporting 14,000 students per day. In the
late 70’s and early 80’s, he worked with JSC, Inc. to build New
England Wheels, Inc. In the mid 80’s, John moved to Connecticut
and joined Target Industries, then one of the nation’s leading
manufacturers of lifts and driving systems, as the National
Sales Manager from 1983-1988. Teaming again with New England
Wheels, John became the President of New England Wheels West,
Inc. in 1988 and has served as the President of Advanced Wheels
of Technology, Inc.(AWT) since 1996. John has served on the
NMEDA Board of Directors for ten years, including four years as
President, four as Secretary, and two as Past President. John’s
company, AWT, is a full line, QAP certified, mobility dealership
serving Connecticut from the office in Hartford County. Their
product lines include both personal use and commercial use
vehicles.
John’s dedication to and passion for the industry is the reason
for his founding involvement in MobilityGroup.com.
Our mission
is simple: “Bring the best value and products together with
extraordinary levels of service and integrity; to our family of
customers.”
“For the past three years I have seen changes in the industry
that have deeply concerned me. Mergers and acquisitions among
mobility equipment manufacturers and suppliers are the primary
reasons. These activities are resulting in higher prices and
lower levels of service for Mobility customers. To fulfill our
mission, Mobility dealers are uniting to aggregate buying power,
and share best business practices, so as to preserve the
personal levels of service and fair prices our customers
deserve. Road test us. We won’t let you down.
Peter
Ruprecht, co-founder
Peter Ruprecht, is President
and Principal of Drive-Master, Inc. In that capacity he has
worked tirelessly to continue the legacy of his late father,
Alan, who founded Drive-Master in 1954 in the early days of
handicapped driving aides.
This family operated business
is a supplier to over 500 national and international
resellers of driving aides and vehicles. From their
Fairfield, NJ factory they design, manufacture and install
adaptive driving aides, modify vehicles, and sell their
products to a long list of satisfied clients.
Peter is an active leader of
the National Mobility Dealers Association, a founder of the
Adaptive Vehicle Association and is active in areas of
industry safety standards and government regulation.
Because of Peter's style, Drive-Master is recognized
throughout the industry as a quality operation with a big
heart.
Like John Quandt, Peter has
seen change come to the mobility industry. As Peter says,
"Change can be good, but good change is better. The
improvements in product performance brought on by new
materials and technology are only as good as the heart of
the organization that uses what we have created to make
improvements in peoples lives. That means we have to always
move the bar higher while providing safe, convenient and
dependable products backed by great service departments.
Mobility Group gives clients access to a full menu of
products at good prices and the high service standards to
keep them coming back."
